What is Profhilo®?

Profhilo® is a revolutionary injectable moisturiser, made with the patented NAHYCO® technology. When injected into skin, Profhilo® stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and plumps the skin giving it a lovely glow. Profhilo® not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage and hands, where it would effectively treat skin laxity.

How does Profhilo® work?

Ultra-pure hyaluronic acid is precisely injected into the area being treated.  Profhilo® stimulates collagen and elastin, attracting water in the deeper layers of the skin. During this time the stimulation of four different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of hyaluronic acid. The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore we cannot say that Profhilo® is not just a skin booster as it also has a remarkable tightening and lifting effect on the tissue. Unlike relaxing the muscles like Botox or contouring the face using fillers Profhilo® plumps the face for an amazing dewy glow and when your skin looks and feels hydrated this increases self esteem making this a fantastic step in your skincare routine.

Will I see immediate results after Profhilo®?

Each individual is different, some may start to notice results after a week, but the ultimate results are seen at week 8, this is because of the cycle of the fibroblast cell turn over which produces collagen and elastin's, along side the slow release of hyaluronic acid. Profhilo® can not be used on the forehead so a lot of people choose to have antiwrinkle treatment such as Botox administered to this area at the same time as Profhilo®

How long does Profhilo® last?

Profhilo® lasts in the skin for approximately 28 days, when first starting on your Profhilo® journey, 2 treatments 4 weeks apart is beneficial to really boost your skin with the results lasting 6 months, to which you would then have 6 monthly treatments

Does Profhilo® treatment hurt?

Treatment is administered in through a small needle but the product can be a bit stingy when injected, however numbing cream can be applied to the areas prior to treatment, the sensation disappears quickly.

Is there any downtime after injecting Profhilo® into the skin?

After being administered treatment downtime is minimal to none, you will notice small bumps under the skin at the injection point which is normal. These bumps will relax and disappear after a couple of hours after treatment and you may have small bruising. It is recommended no make up for 24 hours, no alcohol or steam, saunas or heavy exercise for 48 hours.
